Whatever word you are choosing to capture how you want to feel, or the change you want to see, I want you to think about how it will feel for you to be that way…
How would you behave, walk, and talk?
How would you look, speak or interact with people?
What would you do differently?
Getting crystal clear on what it is you want to feel or be more of, and how it will benefit you and impact your life, creates an empowered intention and something you can connect with every day.
This is more powerful than simply saying “I am going to go to the gym every day” because you can simply say, “I don’t want to, I'm not in the mood...", or life might get in the way.
When you focus on an intention about how you want to feel you can come up with multiple options, activities and habits that will support you in feeling that way rather than relying on one action (like going to the gym). This empowered intention strengthens the possibility of success in achieving the desired change you wish to see in yourself.
Now, {$name}, what do you already know, do or have available to you, right now that helps you to feel this way? Even if only a little bit.
List them all out.
How can you bring more of these actions, behaviours and healthy habits into your day or week to help you feel more (add your intention here), every day?
Here's an example...
Your word might be “Healthy” because you want to feel strong, toned and mobile in your physical body, and calm and happy in your mind. You have felt sluggish lately and want to feel more productive in your work and daily life. You know that you sleep and eat better when you exercise regularly which doubles the impact on your health and how you feel in your body.
You might like to think about what regular exercise you enjoy that you can easily slip into your routine, right now.
What other healthy habits can you reintroduce that you might have slipped out of, temporarily?
Something to note: You might want to replace unhealthy habits with more helpful ones but resist the urge to do it all and start small.
An intention is a foundation for goal setting, changing habits and creating a healthy mindful lifestyle which is why it is step one in my e-book where you can learn my 7 Secrets To Self-Care Without Stress.
Remember:
What do you already have available to you that will encourage more of that intention and the feelings connected to it in your life?
Start with your intention and go from there.
Big love
